Default upgrading rims and tires on 98 C5

Looking to upgrade my Black C5 with some new rims. Curious of recommendations. Would like to move up on size as well from 17/18" to 19/20". Appreciate any helpful advice.

Thx!

I think the 17" and 18" is a good size for the C5 but I would go with an inch WIDER rim like a the C5 Z05. Fill out the wheel well nicely.

Look at lots before dropping the coin. I for one think 20's don't look right. A full set of 19's looks great to my eyes.
275 30 up front with 305 30 on the rear is ideal IMO, or 265 30 and 295 30

So you wouldn't go with the staggered rims? Does that cause any performance challenges?

I think 19/20 looks to big but that's just me. I did 18/19 and to me it looks perfect. Also love the look of 19/19 as well. Many here have done it. Look at Toque's old car. He had CCW's 19/19

If you are referring to active handling and traction control the size of the rim doesn't matter. The required stagger is done by selecting the correct tire sizes. Generally the rear needs to be 1/2 to 1.5 inches taller than the front.

Yes, also 18/19 looks great! Your car BTW, always nice to see, and I'm not really a red guy. Gorgeous.

Exactly as BigGun said, it's about tire choices once you've picked what size wheels you want. Easy enough to keep the stagger, regardless of what wheels you pick. Let us know what wheels you decide on, we can help with tire choices.

What tire sizes did you go with? Your car is spot on Sir.

I had a 19/20 previously...ride way too rough for my taste. Roads in PA suck. 18 275/19 345 works well for me.
These were the 19/20's:

These are the 18/19:
