Home made ramps for the C5
I had some 2" x 10" x 8 foot lumber laying around so I decided to build some ramps. If you were start from scratch and can get 2" x 12" lumber that would of even been better. The total lift is 5" and I started with 4 foot boards. The reason I stagggered the first board is so the car could get up easily on the first level and put some weight on the boards assuring they wouldn't scoot out. The entry cuts are all at 45 degrees. I also put some rubber rug grip on the bottom of the ramps (available at any builders supply) because I have a very smooth garage floor and the boards would just slide before the no slip addition.

I did the same thing with 2x12's. Made a set of four and just drive the whole
car up on them in reverse. I put a handle on each to make it easier to pull them away from the car and carry around.

Nice! Do you nail a board only to the one directly below it? Or do you use super long nails to go throuth all the boards?
Thanks,

I too belong to the home made ramps club, only mine neither had nails nor screws. They were made with two pieces of 12x2 (scrap from Home Depot) with each side secured with carpenter's glue. You might be surprised at the strength of many of today's adhesives.
