Run-flats in the rear mixed with NON run-flats in the front?
Seeking advice from the wise Corvette Gurus of the forum!
I have been running on the same run-flat tires since I bought my '97 C5 in 2004. Last summer I finally had to replace the rears. I had the cash at the time to replace them with another pair of run-flats.
Yesterday, one of my front tires finally gave up the ghost. So I need to replace the front pair ASAP. Unfortunately, Im kinda broke right now and seeking a cheap replacement option.
My question is....can you mix run-flats in the rear with much cheaper non run-flats in the front?
Thank you for any sage council anybody can offer!

I had that setup for about a year or so and didn't have any problems.

Awesome! Thanks for the speedy reply, all! I suspected as much. The guy at Discount Tire swore to me up and down that you CANT mix tires like that...I guess he was trying to hit me with an expensive upgrade.
I appreciate the feedback and wisdom! Cheers!

I stopped by the dealer this afternoon, and the parts guy there was trying to tell me that any non-run flat tire on the Corvette would trigger the tire pressure sensor, and cause the warning light to come on all the time.
I can't believe that there is an issue with running on properly sized/inflated tires even if they are NOT run-flat tires. I am considering a non run-flat All Season tire so I can keep driving the car on colder (but not snowy) days.
Anyone have any experience with this configuration?

The TPS doesn't know if it's reading a run flat or not. Total BS.

When I purchased my 2011 GS it had Michelin run flats on the rear and Michelin all season non run flats on the front. I've been driving it that way for almost a year now with no issues.

Today I installed a new pair of Potenza run-flats on the rear as Bridgestone no longer stocks the RE 960 AS in non-runflat. When I bought my car, it had a new set of the non-runflats and the fronts still have 8-9 32nds tread so I couldn't justify a full set. A subsequent road test proved the reports already stated to be "right on".
As a side note, I followed the TPMS re-program procedure outlined elsewhere on this forum and it worked perfectly. No difference in readings since air is air, just under pressure in this case. I had salvaged a large speaker magnet just for the occasion.
