Default TR6060 Into Early C5

I am looking to do a TR6060 swap into my 97 but I just had a thought about the ABS pump. It appears that there is no mounting provisions for the earlier style ABS pump that normally bolts to te subframe directly behind the diff. Has anyone done this conversion to an early C5 and if so what did you do about the ABS pump? Custom bracketry? Also would if fit with a C6 diff plumbed for a cooler.

The transmission and or the differential has nothing to do with the EBTCM mounting.

If I remember correctly the EBTCM/BPMV mounts to a bracket on the K member. I believe that the 97-early 98 K member is unique for the purpose of mounting that assy.

I have a MN12 converted to a T-6060 and other than the front bulkhead on the transmission, you cant tell the difference.

Correct, and that is what I am dealing with. If I go to the c6 subframe I will lose the mounting point that is on my 97. So even though I know I can use the tr6060 in a C5 I was looking for what people had done to mount the ABS on earlier cars.

Cut the bracket off the old K member and have it welded onto the the new K member.

Thanks, who converted your transmission to the tr6060.

Its a TRANSZILLA T-60/60 and George at RSG RACE DIVISION built it. He can make it in a bunch of gear ratios.

I was just at rpm this week discussing this. It's not a cheap venture.

I got a TR6060 from an 08 vette with a broken OPS. Installed a 30 spline to go to my RPM diff and used a modified T56 extension housing to mate to a C5 diff.

The mounting platform for the EBTCM/BPMV could possibly be attached to the K Member using home made brackets.

There's a good chance I'm going to pull my setup and put up for sale.

I don't see the point in modifying them to fit a C5 diff. It seems to me a lot of the strength comes with the additional mounting points between the trans and diff itself, plus the C6 diff is stronger.

On the '97s and '98s, the EBTCM/BPMV unit mounts directly to the rear cradle, not the diff.

Yes the C6 diff is stronger, but it was a hell of a lot cheaper to put the modified extension housing on the 6060 than it was to buy a c6z diff. As long as your not launching the car the rear will stay alive.

I think he's talking about modifying a TR6060 to fit a C5 differential.

Modify the TR6060 output shaft to work with the C5 diff?

TR6060 is 30-spline vs 27-spline C5 diff pinion gear.

Not all are 30 spline, but the pinion in my c5 diff is 30 spline. You have to have a modified T-56 extension housing so the larger bearing races from the TR6060 can be installed.

So what exactly do you have to do to get the tr6060 to fit in a C5? Are you saying that it will bolt up fine to the torque tube and that you only have to replace the rear shaft and modify the case?

Yes, we build these TR6060 with 27 splines for HPDE/road course customers since the shifting on the TR6060 is butter smooth. The C5 T56 extension housing is modified to accept square bearing to make it work. Other than that, the TR6060 is a bolt in.

So can you use the adapter from the t56 to use the stock rear diff with the 27 tr6060's that came in the base 6.2l on non GS corvettes?

Yes. We have modified tailshaft housings in stock.
