What's this hose not connected to air intake?
Just got my 1st corvette, '03 C5, it has LT headers and Corsa exhaust so it's modded.
The air intake appears stock but there is a hose / tube on drivers side of intake that isn't connected to anything. My guess is the previous owner put stock airbox on before selling car and that this tube plugged into the intake that was on (with the mods I'm sure PO had an aftermarket intake).
I have no codes or anything but want to make sure I address this if needed.
Here are a couple pics. For perspective one pic os from above the engine looking down at intake and I'm pointing at the hose on question. Can anyone tell me what this is and what I should do with it?
Thx in advance, this is my first post other than my intro so excuses newbyness!

I should also mention I followed the hose to see where it goes and it goes towards the wheel well and back toward the engine but I can't see where it leads to from above or under the car (too many various panels blocking the view).
Thanks again

That's the air supply hose for your electrically operated A.I.R. pump. You're correct about the aftermarket air filter not having an attachment provision for it, so they attached a small filter to the end of that hose, so it draws in filtered air when the pump runs. You can leave it as-is if you like. It's not hurting anything.

That particular filter they chose is a design commonly found on carbureted cars, and is usually attached to the side of the air filter housing on those vehicles. It's a crankcase breather filter. Being common, it's inexpensive to replace if need be.

If the stock intake is on the car (doesn't look like it), there is a provision for that hose to draw filtered air. If the hole that that hose would normally plug into is not blocked off, then unfiltered air can be drawn into the motor through the hole. Can't tell from the photos what the situation is.

There is nowhere on the intake shroud to plug the hose into and it's just resting there loosely..... That's what concerned me and the reason I posted this.
The intake does not appear to be stock but I can't tell what intake it is (no names or logos and doesn't look like any of the aftermarket ones I've seen online). I'm thinking I should shop for a nicer intake ..... This one looks a bit ghetto

I have two friends who have the hurricane CAI which looks very much like what you have in the car. Both of them find dirt in their throttle body because it doesn't filter well. You may want to check that.
I am running the Callaway Honker and like it very much.

Last night I took the intake apart, pain in the rear compared to most cars..... Turns out I have an AFE intake filter under the shroud (the shroud just had "made in USA" so not sure if the shroud is part of the afe intake or not. Cleaned up the filter and shroud and used maf cleaner on the maf and also cleaned up the throttle body although it wasn't too dirty. Looks much nicer now that it's all clean.... Should breathe better now also and I'll find out later today when I take it out for some joy driving ;-)

Just googled hurricane intake and you may be correct, looks like mine and it looks like they use the afe filter also. It is not easy to install, but I was patient and everything went together fine
