Thoughts on Radiator/Heater Silicone Hose Sets?
I will need to replace the radiator and heater hoses on my 2002 Z06 ( all OEM at this point).
Anyone have experience with SAMCO silicone hoses? They are a bit pricey in a set of 8 pieces.
Alternatively, does anyone sell a complete set of properly matched OEM GM hoses ? The main radiator hoses are easy to locate, but some of the other formed pieces are harder to locate and would be great if they were packaged as a complete set.

I have samco hoses on mine, they are real nice and fit perfectly... make sure to get their hose clamp set with the hoses, regular worm clamps can tear the silicone... I wasn't too thrilled about having to cut my upper and lower hoses to install my blower though

Why did you have to cut the hoses for your blower?

my radiator is lowered and angled back to clear a 4" inlet... top hose had to be trimmed and bottom hose had to be cut in half and an extension pipe put in between it... everything is fine but I wasn't thrilled about cutting a $300 set of hoses... I agree to not go with the colored ones, I got black just to keep it clean... most people don't even notice that they are silicone

If you decide not to go the silicone route and go OEM style instead, this may help...

I ordered them from GM Parts Direct as they had the best prices I could find. One hose was backordered, but it delayed my shipment less than a week.
Good luck with your project!

here is the two -4 coming off the radiator and one going into the res tank and other under the tb. And the upper..I didn't do the lower because you won't see it...op here is what you need if you want to do -an
Upper Rad is 1-1/4
Lower Rad is 1-1/4 and 1-1/2
Heater hoses are 5/8
Overflow to Rad is 3/8
Overflow to block is 9/16
Valve cover to TB is 3/8
The hose you deleted is 3/8
Drivers side Air hose is 3/4

that looks pretty slick, I like it... did you buy just the braid or new braided hose and what are you using on the ends, just regular clamps?

those look real nice, I might try something like that in the future... what did you do with the radiator hoses since they have some sharp bends in them?

I used the Gates "power-grip" hose "clamps" on my silicone hose install. They're like big pieces of "shrink wrap" tubing.

Are you talking about the large one on top? Its molded just like the factory its a exact copy replacement. All the other smalls one are are just curved and fit perfect. They have black -an if you wanna go that route

I'm installing a 9-piece braided hose set and are using similar chrome-finished Spectre Magna clamps. However I do like these black clamps as well!

Gates "Powergrip SB clamps". I've used some of those in the past. They work great. Just have to use a heat gun with a curved heat deflector tip, in order to direct heat around to the back side of the hose.

Good stuff guys thanks
I may splurge on the SAMCO silicone hose set, I've had good experience with them in the past on a turbo application. The clamp size info is great, as I will have to order separately as SAMCO's set has a 7 week delivery window.
