recently noticed my drivers side headlight would not return to the down position. when switch on both headlights are raised up and working like normal. when the switch is off both headlights go down but the drivers side pops back up and remains stuck there. I've checked all fuses and they are good. has anyone else had this problem? gosh these cars are electrical nightmares lol

It's more than likely an issue with a worn down gear. Do a search and you'll find hundreds of threads on this. There is a slim chance that the motor is bad; however, my bet is on the gear.

May also want to check the stop bumpers, to make sure they are still in good shape.
