Default Parts / Interior...seat covers, door panel

My car was vandalized/broken into a little over a month ago. I filed a claim, as I suffered content loss, as well as a smashed window, cut seat covers, and door panel. I brought it to a local guy (who's got a substantial shop, been in the biz for years, has owned Vettes, and, I've known for awhile, etc; etc and he's telling me he cannot get parts!!! Is he BSing me?? Do you know how many C5's are on the road?? He just told me that one of his suppliers said that the covers and door panels were "discontinued", and that he's on a "hot list" to get parts!! I know this guy, and, I know that he's a "preferred" shop for the ins. co, soo my initial thinking is that he doesn't want to put OEM parts on, cuz he won't make as much $$$, plus, he doesn't want to slam the ins. co.!!! Does this sound right? Is there really a shortage of parts?? Can anyone give me a PH# to the main supplier to the Bowling Green plant?? Elaborate?? Anyone???

Thanks,
Neal

Unlikely, probably make it WORSE. The seats are easy, the door panels are near impossible to find. Having old ones recovered is a better option.

We have the door panels used along with any other parts you may need. The seat covers you will be bettor off buying new from a vendor who makes them. GM is not going to have any of the parts more than likely as they have been discontinued.

What color is your interior? All Black?

Yes, all black. Can you recommend vendors? Are you saying that all parts will be "after market" vendors?? Isn't there one or two certified GM supplier??

Aesautoparts a vendor on here parts out wrecked vettes. Get with him for what you need. Getting new parts from gm will be almost impossible as the last time a c5 was made was in 2004. After ten years manufacturers do not have to keep parts available

Yes, I understand that....but I always thought that they kept up with an authorized vendor, or two.....surely GM executives know where to go get good parts...js
