Default Service Active Handling, Traction Control, ABS

I have a 2003 Z06 with almost 70k miles and am now experiencing what appears to be a common C5 issue. After turning on my car, it reads "Service Active Handling... Traction Control... ABS". It started to do this only intermittently but has been permanent for the past month or so.

I've done research on these forums about the issue and can see I probably just need to have my EBCM repaired. Also, on numerous different threads I found, there is a member "trussme" who apparently has an awesome Word document with pictures and step-by-step instructions on further diagnosing the issue, and importantly, removing the EBCM.

I sent a message to trussme asking if he could send me the instructions but haven't got a reply. Is there somebody else out there that happens to have the instructions and wouldn't mind sending to me? I would appreciate it. I just want instructions on removing the EBCM and then I plan on sending it to ABSfixer.com.

Email address: nate_dog_123@yahoo.com

Thanks in advance!!

With 8VETTE7 Pull you codes!!!! The C1214 is not the only repairable code. I had my C1242 repaired for 1/3 the price of most
the shops doing the 1214 code repair

Where exactly is this wire located? I periodically have my car throw that code but only when its hot outside. When its cold, car works fine.

Each wheel has a hall effect speed sensor in the hub. There is only one pair of wires going to each hub.

But pull your codes before doing anything else. They will tell you if you have an open circuit at the wheel, a failing EBCM relay, or w/e.

I had no idea you could pull codes directly from the DIC. That wasn't in the owner's manual haha.

I have previously checked codes using a little OBDII scanner I have and strangely it indicated no codes. I will check through the DIC tonight though and post. Maybe the situation has changed.

Thanks! Codes coming soon.

get the pdf here...

1214 is most likely a relay coming unsoldered from the EBCM (easy fix, do a search)

1221 and 1222 indicate a loss of signal to both of your front wheel speed sensors (most likely loose/corroded wiring clips at the hub, also an easy fix)

And I think 1248 is resultant code that just tells you the rear proportioning circuit got shut off probably because of the lack of signal from the front sensors.

So rejoice, your problems are well documented and simple, cheap repairs.
