Default Car has power but no start

Car is a 2003 Z06 with 82k miles and a daily driver. Only mod is MGW shifter and Corsa x-pipe and mufflers. Has been flawless for me except for recently replacing the battery and needing my TCM sent out(was going to do it very soon as the weather is getting nice).

Went to start my car this AM to go to work. Full power to everything but the car wouldn't crank. Went into the DIC and pulled the codes. Here is the video.

I never had any issues with anything before. I tried to clear the codes after taking the video and starting but it did the same thing. Codes didn't come back yet.

Need help.

Did the Security light go off when you got in and put the key in the ignition and tried to start the car?

Double check the battery connections and battery voltage if you have not done so.

You may have an ignition switch issue. I assume it is still the original one. Here is a link from Bill Curlee on how to check it out. The VATS circuit for the Security light is separate from the major ignition switch and is part of the mechanical key cylinder.

It might be a corrupted serial bus issue. While your codes show history I am not sure if they should reappear without the car actually starting.

The door module circuits seem to have presented an issue and could still be. They are know bad actors. We can pull the cap off of that Star connector and remove it from the equation if you want to

There are 2 Star connectors to the left of the BCM. You want to pull the cap/top off of the one with 4 WIRES. Here is what a Star connector looks like.

Trying this could be faster than testing out the ignition switch. Just wish I knew if the codes should show up without a start. They probably showed as H since the car had been shut off when you pulled them.

I can hear the TDR click so I believe thats good.

I jumped the neutral safety switch and it fired up. Hopefully that is the issue and not just random luck. I'll be sure to keep this thread up to date if anything else come up.

Thanks again!

That is great. Exactly which switch did you jumper? I don't see any such switch in the manual transmission schematics. Did you mean the clutch switch?

Go for a drive and then pull your codes before you turn the key to OFF in case there is something else going on. I do think it was just the switch but you seem to have some serial bus issues that may need to be addressed.

Where is the clutch switch located, i know it is in the clutch area but ..... When I test drove my vette before purchase, the owner said he had to role it off occasionally and I found out if you don't have clutch all the way in it will not start, I think this must have been his problem, hasn't happened to me at all but knowing where the switch is would help for future ref. Dadaroo U R just down the interstate from me. Thanks

Never looked for it but if the OP does not chime in I can look at the FSM when I get home and let you know. I'll also see if it has any adjustment or if you might want to replace it for good measure.

We'll have to get together one day for a beer or something tasty.

It is at the very bottom or the clutch pedal bracket. To remove the FSM says remove the knee bolster first for access. Says to insert a feeler gauge between the bracket and the switch to remove it. There is no adjustment.

Thanks man, I hope I never have to mess with it. I don't think the guy that had my car drove it very much for maybe a yr. There were several things that didn't work and by the time I got it home all was working from just exercising switches, like the horn wouldn't blow and I kept hitting the button and it went to working. If you let anything set and don't use it, it will deterorate.
