Default Oil, Coolant, and Vacuum leaks

I purchased a used 1999 standard a few months back. The first issue was with the oil sending unit. Oil pressure reading was pegged and there was an oil leak (onto the exhaust). I didn't feel comfortable changing the sensor myself becuase most threads recommend removing the intake manifold. I had a local shop (someone I trust) do that work. Initially, no more oil leaks or odors from burning oil. The oil pressure was now reading properly. After a couple of months, I began to smell burning oil again...just a slight odor every now and then. Then I had the "low coolant" message. I have also noticed that the vents in the dash adjust when I am idled at a light, then adjust again when I accelerate. I'm guessing that there is a problem with the intake manifold. Anyone had a similar experience?
