If I swap the Ls7 lifters in on my LS6 (One is bad) and then also put a Cam in at the same time. I know ill have to upgrade my springs. But the pushrods have to be the right legnth for the cam Also right? And do they have to be hardened? Or are most anyway?

Also the lifter trays...is this a wear item? Will I need to also replace the lifter trays will LS7 trays or can I use the stock LS6 lifter trays?

And lastly do I need anything else lifter wise for the LS7 lifter install?

Im going to be doing stiffer valve springs also.

LS7 lifters are a direct fit with no problem. I would replace the trays, they are cheap. If you're not changing the cam then you should be fine with the same length PR as long as you had the right length before. If I were you I would also do the Comp Cams trunion while I was doing this project.

I still used the stock length PR with my cam swap. However, they aren't stock. I bought comp cams hardened pushrod. Too many missed shifts and with all that high rpm load is begging for bent rods. Texas-Speed has some great cam kits. Id start there.

Your in NC, I'd call the guys at Tick. I don't know them, but they build and race quite a few single digit cars.

100% ABSOLUTELY REPLACE THE LIFTER TRAYS, I personally use the latest 2008up style, call it a 2013 LS7 if you will, but GM typically updates the parts(trays in this case) based on design change or supplier.

Newer style trays have a notch in them for the LS2/3/7 style blocks, the notch 'appears' to be from the LOMA motors that use the 'shutdown' lifters on every other cylinder.

Thanks guys. Just orderd the parts from GMpartshouse. Its crazy though! ONE head gasket for my 4cyl would cost over $100 oem, wires would be around 60 for JUST four and on and on. Gotta love american parts!
