Default How To Lower Your Seat?

I tried to do the search, I know I read about it. How do you lower the driver's seat? TIA

you remove the seat and flip it over. Their is 2 springs that run the length of the cushion. Those 2 springs you just unhook them and basically the seat will deflate in the rear area. I did it but I am thinking of going back and reattaching them because it looks like it is putting more wear on the seat (stretching). hope this helps

The Sport Seats on my '01 had 4 springs each, but the technique is the same. Tips:

1. Save the springs, I don't think they are available as individual parts
2. Torque seat nuts to 35 ft/lb when reinstalling the seat- since the seat belt is attached to the seat, this is a safety issue.

The Corvette seat is narrower than most, so unless you have a very skinny butt, you're gonna be
uncomfortable after the spring mod.

Steve is at least partly correct- I have an average size butt and find it much more comfortable to take out my wallet for long trips, now that my springs have been removed. On the other hand, with the springs in place I always felt that I was looking through the tint band at the top of the windshield. Neither way is perfect, try them both and use what feels best for you.

I found moving the seat forward but tilting it back seems to help.

I tried the spring thing, but put them back in after a few weeks because it was uncomfortable on long rides -- I am not skinny but the seat is narrow.

I have standard seats, but I recently swapped in a pair of sport seats for a couple of weeks. I found that I could not get the sport seat as low as the standard set. I ended up combining parts of the sports seat with the standard seat.

Hey BluFRC - how did you get the springs back in? I'll be damned if I can stretch them far enough to hook up. I tried putting the power seat in various positions and I just can't get them on. I'm thinking there has to be a tool for this sort of thing.

I like sitting lower...I'm 6'6" so it helps a bunch...but there's just no support and you can feel every bump in the road which is annoying on highway trips. I'm thinking about putting the outer two springs back in first to see if that helps with the ride but still keeps me lower.

I just took the seat out an used a pair of pliers to grab the end of the spring and pulled like a !@#$.
