If that is what you mean then the pressure regulator function is performed by the fuel filter for 1999 - 2002 and the early 2003 vehicles. In Mid year 2003 GM switched the fuel system to RPO FFS and the fuel pressure regulator is in the tank and is a part of the fuel pump. On the 1997 - 1998 C5's the fuel pressure regulator was located on the intake manifold.
Blue pcm connector
46 - GRAY - Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor 5V Reference

its labeled on the pcm as pin 46 on the blue connector, I just need to find it.

Part number 16238399 Item number 28 in pic. Resembles a MAP sensor. It is not Corvette specific and is used on several other GM vehicles.
Looks to be on LH side of car near, or at the top of, the fuel tank. Looks like it is held/retained by a small bracket and a hose connects to it. A three-wire plug connects to it. NOTE: this pic does not show ALL the hoses/components etc, for the fuel system, and is only one of two or three illustrations.

Edit: Found this photo. You can see the sensor with a 90* elbow hose/tube attached to it sitting above the other two hoses by itself. That picture is of a '99 and from what I can find, I'm pretty sure the 2000 is the same.

is dropping the entire assembly, the only way to access the top portion of the tank?

If you need to get totally unrestricted access to the top of the tank, yes But, that may not be necessary. You may be able to get to where the sensor is by removing the LR wheel and then remove the LR wheel house. Doing that does provide some access to the filler hose and fuel door release mechanism etc, and you may see the sensor in the area. From the illustrations it appears this particular sensor is right in that area.

At least you know what it looks like now and be able to spot it easier.

Glad to help if I can, but I'm curious as to why you think you need to replace (I assume) that sensor?

I know this is almost a year old but I am curious as to where it is at on a 2001 I am having problems with my fuel pressure dropping off hard when it's hot out and the car is warm

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-f...post1587404670

edit: I looked it up but mine does not look the same..it's a 2001 I will have to see where it is on mine.

Mine doesn't look like the one above at all...

After 99/00 the C5 was changed to a return-less fuel system, That MAY* explain why yours is different.

Edit: As a suggestion, you may want to post in the help section for your issue. Might be something common, like a crack in the tank once it expands slightly (since it does it once warm). On some cars the issue you described is caused by an old gas cap, resulting in a poor seal.
