02 c5 gauges and no comm probem
hello everyone... well here it goes. Car was in a collision, being a collision tech for 20+ years I repaired myself all was well. (small prob with lights, ground splice link) Now its been sitting awhile. recently went to run and CRAP.... Check engine light on
Check gauges on
Oil pressure gauge inop
Temp gauge maxed out
Fuel gauge inop
Reduced Engine Power
Service traction system
DIC codes
10 PCM-NO COMM
28 TCS-U1000C
40 BCM U1255C
58 SDM U1000, U1016
BO RFA-U1000
After lots of hours reading here...
Things done
checked wiring and grounds/splice grounds.. passenger foot well also.
battery
fuses
changed fuse box with extra
volted fuses to eliminate ignition
Code scanner also has no comm
And numerous other things!!!!!!!!
everything else seems to work fine. has oil pressure
when I unplug temp sending unit, fans kick in. (do not let run long)
Car was hit right front (not hard) no torn wires..
IM Stumped......HELP
Thanks.....

Dear STUMPED!
Here is where I would start: Open BOTH DOORS. Grab the rubber accordion tube that goes between the doors and door frame A pillar There will be two wiring harnesses inside the tube.
pinch the rubber and Grip the wires with your fingers. SHAKE the crap out of the wires. See if that resolves the issue.
If it does, let me know and I will tell you have to fix it permently.
If that doesnt fix it, There are two thin white/grey connectors to,the LEFT of the BCM. The one with FOUR WIRES is the serial data buss for the LDCM, RDCM and SCM
Pop the top off of it and see if that clears it up:
Post the results.
If the BCM has been wet or is wet, it will also freak out like it doing.

I have been following this post, it happened to me this morning. I pulled the cover off the 4 wire connector and the car fired right up. I put the jumper back on and I had the same old problem. What's next.
Thanks
Mike
I read everyday but seldom post.
You guys are great

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,, See how easy that was!
You have an issue in either the LDCM, RDCM or seat control module.
If it were me, I would pop out the accordion tubes and pull the door harness connectors out of the door A pillar hole
Separate them and examine the female pins. See if you can find any that are damaged or spread apart When they spread they get loose on the male pin and cause power issues in the module which corrupts the serial data buss.
Same for the seat module connector under the seat. Unplug the drivers seat and examine the female pins

Bill,
It appears it's the seat control module. I pulled fuse # 4 and all is good. Seeing that i'm the only one who drives the car i'm going to wait for winter to take the seat out and see what'd going on.
Thanks Bill you're a wealth of information

Mike
Many seat electrical issues are caused a damaged seat electrical connector.
It hangs low and gets abused. Get a flashlight and mirror and check it out. You may find that it just needs a little attention.
Unplug it and look at the female pins. See if they are spread. See if there are any damaged wires at the connector.

No Comm
Bill has been helping me sort out power window issues.
I had no working switches and codes were
A0-LDCM No Comm
A1-RDCM No Comm
A6-SCM No Comm
I tried jiggling the accordians, both doors, no fix.
Then I saw this thread and pulled out the 2 white/grey jumpers
and the windows worked fine. I cleaned them up and closed things
up and they stopped working.... pulled them out again and everything
normal again so there must be a bad connection or wire.
Anyways, thought this might help someone deal with window issues.
My seats have worked fine all along.
Cheers and thanks Bill.
