Default thermostat size

hi, can anyone tell me what is the standard thermost temp. for c5 2002 stock engine?
also. what should be the safe temp. for the car to run at?
is 220- 230 acceptable as normal?
fans kick in at aprox 230

Stock thermostat opens at around 187 and will run around 190 give or take. Coasting down a long hill on a cool night might push it down to 187, at least mine did. The higher temps are just a function of the low speed fan "on" temperature. I don't see anything out of the ordinary with the temps you are seeing.

However, if the car is new to you, be aware that the radiator/condenser will pick up a lot of junk due to the bottom breathing. I check mine every couple of weeks for foreign matter and clean it thoroughly a couple of times per year. I have even seen these cars pick up plastic bags, etc. when they are blowing around on the road.
