Default C6 rims on a c5

Hi there,

I know this has probably been asked lots of times but I searched and couldn't find anything on this.

I'm looking to put these OEM c6 5 spoke 18/19s on my car but the rear tires are worn. I'm was wondering if I can put a 305 30 19 on the rear and leave the front 245 40 18 as they still have a good 60ish% left. I want to make sure I wont get any error messages/active handling problems. Whats the best rear tire size to use?

Also does anyone know what spacers will make the wheels flush with my fenders? Thanks

I've got a 7/8in spacer in the rear and a 5/8in spacer in the front. Here is the result:

Good question, I am thinking about buying the 305 for the rear. I have 245 in front. That is only .48 difference in diameter, they say you need .50. Will .48 be ok?
245/40R18
Section Width: 9.65 in 245.00 mm
Rim Diameter: 18 in 457.2 mm
Rim Width Range: 8 - 9.5 in
Overall Diameter: 25.72 in 653.20 mm

305/30R19 Section Width: 12.01 in 305.00 mm
Rim Diameter: 19 in 482.6 mm
Rim Width Range: 10.5 - 11.5 in
Overall Diameter: 26.20 in 665.60 mm

With stock size C6 tires and wheels mounted on a C5, no spacers are needed on the front, and 1/4 to 3/8 inch spacers will bring the the rears flush with the fenders.

It will most likely work fine but no-one will guarantee it.

It may be OK for now, but as the rear tires wear it could soon be considerably less than .48 in. Rear tires tend to wear at a faster rate than front tires.

There's really no definitive answer here. In my opinion, you're cutting it too close.
