Default Widshield Glare

I am getting a lot of glare on my windshield from the black shiny leather dash board.Does anyone have some ideas as to make my dash more of a flat black to reduce the glare.I know some people don't have this problem but I do because I am very short and sit way down in the seat which causes the glare to be more pronounced.Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.BTW sun glasses don't help.
Thanks
Fred

Hmmm... interesting problem. I've never noticed any sort of glare on the windshield.

I clean mine regularly and very thoroughly with Rain-X, which leaves a protective coat on it that repels water and dirt and keeps it clean.

Perhaps do a thorough cleaning of the inside of the windshield and see if it helps? On my jeep I get really bad glares on the windshield from other cars' headlights when the windshield is dirty.

You can also try cleaning the dash with generic degreaser. The degreaser will help remove any armorall or other protectants/shiners that have been applied to the dash.

Certain times of day I used to get it too. Then I bought a dashmat and love it. Here are some shots of mine.

Thanks for the response.I don't know how the dash mat would work in a convertible.Yours looks very nice and I can see how that would stop the glare problem. Thanks

Fred,

I could be way off on this, but... If you or a prior owner used a product like Armor All, Physicsdude55 mentioned this, that can, more than anything produce glare. I learned the hard way on my other car. Make sure to "degrease" the dash and see if this helps.

Regards,

Gunny John
