Default Automatic transmission boot removal

I am replacing the boot on my auto tranny. I removed the console and the boot around the shifter plate. How do I remove the boot from the shift indicator on the left hand side?

How did you get the console off?

I'd recommend looking at the excellent instructions that are on the Vette Essentials web site. When I changed out my A4 shift boot in my car, those instructions are what I used and they made the job really easy. Just be careful as some of the plastic pieces in that area can be very fragile, especially after all this time.
