Default Normal idle RPM?

Yesterday I noticed I had a unusually high RPM at idle. ( 950- 1000) So I took off airbridge, MAF, and connectors. Cleaned the MAF, then re-connected everything. Now I am down to around 725-750 RPM at idle with the A/C off. No codes are showing. I suspect that I had an air leak in addition to the dirty MAF. So my question is - Is 750 RPM idle speed normal for my C5? Thanks for a response.

Sounds about right for automatics.

For what it's worth my '04 Z seems to always be rock steady at 800 RPM.

725-750 is about right for 6spd. An A4 in gear will idle a little bit lower but I think you found the problem.
