my 99 locks and unlocks (without touching the key fob) when the key fob is in range - did they do way with this feature in 2002?

'97 to '99 have passive key fobs. There is a switch on the fob to go between passive and active, so it is your choice.

'00 does not have the passive feature.

'01 to '04 have a different receiver that uses a different frequency or something so the early fobs and TPMS won't work with it.
