Exhaust plate question
Hey guys,
I got my grandfather an exhaust plate for his '99, but he's nervous about putting it on because he isn't sure the dual-sided tape will hold it on.
How many of you have exhaust plates on your cars? And how well does the tape hold?
Thanks,
Jay

Melting Slicks
I had one on my 01 coupe and the double sided tape held up very well to the day I took it off. It was on so solid that I had to heat the plate with a heat gun and use fishing line to get it off. I don't think you should worry about it following off.

Clean the area with alcohol and stick it on. It won't fall off. You'll have to pry it off if you want if off. The body side moldings are on with double sided tape and none have ever fallen off.

Once stuck on, it is next to impossible to remove. Tell your grandfather to not worry about it. Mine has been on for almost 4 years.

If you clean the area very well with denatured alcohol it should stay on for ever.

When I put mine on, I also didnt trust the tape.. SO,,,, I put some clear RTV in TWO good size BLOBS between the tape and BROTHER,, that thisng was a BEAR to get off when I decided to remove it!! So,, thats a second option.
