Default OBX LT headers, cats, xpipe

Found a set online for 799 + 50 shipping. What is the quality like on these, for the price seems hard to beat. That would take me all the way to the catback and I see they also sell a catback system as well that looks alot like the Borla S type.

Edit: I was thinking about something else. The OBX quality as far as material and welding is good. They will fit, but often require some tweaking, sometimes bending or pushing the headers in or out to make the midpipes fit and I usually see a hole required in the tunnel plate for one of the O2 sensors. Also, the tubes are a little smaller than some other brands.

The XSPower is much better for around the same price and no fitment problems. A few $100 more will get you LG headers which are really good.

The XSPower are a copy of another brand. I can't recall which ones though.

I'm a big supporter of the XSPower exhausts. Pricing is similar and in my opinion it is a superior product, but people usually have good results with the OBX as well.

i heard they were imports with small tracking devices installed on them so they know where you go all the time

there are issues with fitment as is with most headers. use the search function to read others experiences. AC lines have to be bent out of the way in some cases.

for 1-200 more you can get a better quality product.

I suppose if you don't mind having a bunch of chinese products on your car, have at it. Yes, the stuff is made descent...xspower and other product thieves have improved their quality over the years.

In my opinion it's like shopping at walmart for your performance parts. Yes...it's cheap...it's designs stolen from legitimate companies and reproduced along with hundreds of thousands of other products.

I was amazed at SEMA, how these chinese manufacturers will walk the aisles, picking up product brochures on the newest products. They collect all the info they can, purchase the items when they go to market and immediately begin copying. I've witnessed hostilities between american company representatives and these chinese manufacturers first hand on the SEMA floor.

Being in the business for so long as an owner, builder, etc....I simply cannot support these activities on principle. Inevitably though, these products exist, continue to thrive and have taken over this nation due to overwhelming support by consumers to simply save dollars.

Does it work...yes.
Is it descent...yes...much improved vs a lot of these products 10 years ago were
Is it the best...no

$1,300 give or take is the entire system headers to tail pipes.

I checked the XSPower site, where are they made? I like the 3" tubes but they say they are not avail.

The catback is priced right, I like the Corsa system but it alone runs 1200+

How are the Texas Speed Headers? They are a little cheaper the XSpower ones.

I don't have any experience with them, but if you are talking about this setup: http://www.texas-speed.com/p-704-tex...-3-x-pipe.aspx

there are a few things I noticed.

Texas Speed:
Catless only, no rear o2 bungs, no wideband bung, made of "aluminized steel", requires o2 extensions (they offer a $70 "install kit")

XSPower:
catted or catless, rear o2 bungs, wideband bung, made of high quality SS321 stainless steel, no o2 extensions necessary.

What should be the expected gains in a stock A4 with your headers and x-pipe?
thanks

Gains are right there up with the best of them! I typically have seen gains of 20-30 rwhp/tq or 30-40 hp/tq

american racing can be found for 1400 or so and the best install experience.

Others may be a bit of a pain.. You buy what you want nobody will really care after that.

My M6 car picked up ~3mph just bolting on the catted XSPower longtubes. That was without a tune, no other mods.
