Would low freon do this? It does get very cold, it just takes forever!

first, check between the radiator and condenser coil for leaves and debris. blow out with air gun. any ac shop can hook up refrigeration guages to it and check the charge. i would not just arbitrarily add freon to it without checking the charge first. you do not want to damage the compressor. its expensive.

Good advice,If you have a build up of leaves and other debris between the rad. and cond.it will also be reading higher than normal engine temps.

Just my $0.02, but rather than have a A/C shop check the pressures, but a halfway decent R134 gage set and check the pressures yourself. The shop has an incentive to find the system is "a little low" to sell you something (more Freon), you don't. Yes, I know there are plenty of honest shops out there, but there are also some that either aren't honest - or simply don't know better and overcharge everything. .
