I never noticed an increase in oil press. when using it in the past. I've been waiting for them to become available locally again and have a Mobil 1 in right now. Where did you get yours? Ken Fitchner or one of the forum vendors?

I just put in a UPF44 oil filter today too. I'm not sure I see any change in pressure. Its hard to tell. I got my filters from LAPD. They sell them in boxes of 6. I put the other 5 in ziplock bags to try to keep them from getting contaminated or from moisture. Hopefully that will keep them from having any problems several months down the line.

[QUOTE]my oil pressure is higher. Anyone else notice this?
Since I've seen all the debate on oil pressure with the UPF44 and the oil capacity of the C5's, I paid careful attention when I did my first oil change.
The results - changed from 5w-30 to 10w-30 and from PF44 to UPF44. Absolutely no change in oil pressure at exactly the same RPM's (idle ane 2000), same oil & water temps. Also, I drained out exactly 7 Qts. and it took 7 Qts. to reach the MAX. hole on the dip stick. My car had 7 miles on it at delivery and did not receive the pre delivery prep. so I know the car came from GM with 7 Qts. I hope this helps :yesnod:

I change oil and filter at the same time, and every time I change the oil pressure goes up about 4psi. When I change the oil and filter the pressure is about 40 psi before and 44 psi after. UPF44 oil filter & Mobil 5w-30 oil.

My oil pressure went up about 5 pounds across the board with the UPF-44.

UpF44 Compared to what? Unless we say what was in there before, than the info is meaningless. By the my oil pressure went up a little when I went from a Upf44 to a Mobil-1 filter.

Mine did the same thing when I changed the oil for the first time, using the UPF44 filter. The oil pressure has remained constant since then after each oil change with the UPF44.

New oil on its own can increase the oil pressure for awhile until it gets broke in. I definitely wouldn't worry about it. What PSI are you running during warm-up? What about at cruising speeds on the highway?

I noticed an increase in oil pressure when I changed my oil for the first time. I don't drive the car very much (<3000 miles on a 2000 model), so I have only changed it once. I also noticed that the original oil was very thin.
