Default Stock Clutch questions

Hey guys

I apoligise if this thread already exists, I did a fair amount of searching but only came up with recommendations on upgrades.

I have a 99 FRC and have recently gotten bit by the mod bug. Last weekend I installed a set of XS power headers and an off road x-pipe which I mounted to my pre-existing B&B catbacks. Other than that the car is all stock. I am thinking my next move is upgrading to the LS6 intake and a cai, (maybe a vararam). After that a cam and a trans brace may be in the works. I am going to hold off on a tune at least until I get the intake side of the motor breathing a little better.

The real question and purpose of this posting is to inquire on how much longer should I expect my stock clutch to hold up. I know it will need upgrading before too long I am just wondering how much more power it should be able to take before slipping.

Thanks guys, all knowledge and opinions welcome.

Well it really depends on how you drive and how many miles you have on it. You might be fine for a while even with a cam just so long as you keep your stock heads.

A combination of your driving style and mileage. No set rule really. Could be as low as 20,000 or as high as 80 - 100K miles. It's possible your clutch slave cylinder will puke before your clutch goes. Mine did.
