A/C compressor is leaking. Can seals be replaced?
The compressor on my 2001 C5 is leaking. I have been told that it can be repaired ? Any thoughts? Thanks. T.

A/C Compressors "can" be repaired but it's very rare to find someone with the special tools, patience and knowledge.
To be quite honest you're better off buying a reman or new simply for the warranty that comes with it.

There's a thread on here on how to replace the compressor that is great. I used that and bought a compressor from 1sikvette because my compressor leaked as well. Would have hated to do all that work to have seals replaced on the OEM one only to have to do the job again soon after

I had a leak where the lines plugged into the back of the compressor. I replaced the O-rings, drew a vacuum, and recharged. It has been three years or so, and is still working fine. (If that's your problem) I posted on this at the time and you should be able to find it with a search.

In the future, and for others reading, the AC compressor needs to run for a little bit every time you start the car if it's not a Daily Driver. Even if you are using the heater with the AC button on, this will help keep the seals from drying out.
