With a rear:
295/35ZR18 99W

I have 275s on my front tires for my 2003 Z06, and they are perfectly fine.

Also what about the width? I had some supercars on an 02 and replaced them with Michelin pilots and was not happy with how wide the pilots were. The same size looked a lot skinnier on the pilots. Had the same disappointment on a cts-v, replaced some good years with pilots on the back only and the difference in widths was very noticeable , michelins were skinnier. How do the 295's look on the stock z06wheel?
I don't remember exactly how my stock 295s looked, but if I had to guess, I think these 295 Vreds look a little bit skinnier, unfortunately

I would never go with an "undersized" tire such as the 255-40-17. I think the 275-40-17 will make your traction control unhappy?

What I did was go to a Z06 factory 18" wheel and mount a 265-35-18 PS2 on it. It is almost the exact same diameter as the factory 265-40-17 GY's.

I might add that the PS2's do look very slightly narrower than the Super Cars. I measured about 3/8 to 1/2" difference.

I wouldn't ever go down in size either. My traction control and active handling is perfectly fine as far as I can tell, and I've been both on a drag strip and road course at least 1 time. I think quite a few other members run the same Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tires as me too (275 in the front, 295 in the back).

If the Veredesteins work then that would be so in all C5's?

Tires even in the exact same size can be very different in actual size. My BFG Comp T/A's on my old C4 Corvette. sized 275-45-17 were a full inch wider than the old Goodyear's sized 275-45-17. I think the overall diameter is more closely matched.

The base C5 has different stock tire sizes, so I'm guessing that if you find the Veredesteins in those stock sizes, then they will work. Hopefully another member will respond who knows about the active handling system on the base C5 who can tell us the safe tire sizes for a base C5, if you wanted to go with bigger tires. Sorry I can't be more help!

In my humble opinion, the rounder shoulders of the Michelins and the Vredesteins, which make them look narrower, is more than made up for in the much better performnace of either tire over the Goodyears. I've now had the Vreds a on my car for a year and I can't think of any negatives about these tires. I've even had the unfortunate opportunity to drive in heavy rain and these tires stick like it's dry.

The Standard C5 is 245/45/17 and 275/40/18. Would standard C5 rims/ tires not work on the Z for some reason?

I would not want to use them I'm just saying.

I have heard good reviews on the Nitto Nt05 and love the way they look.

Problem is they didnt have stock sizes. I have seen them on C5 Z's with stock rims before and was wondering what sizes they were running.
