Mine is atleast
The top line of the catch can goes into the Engine Valley cover.

I have not driven my car with the Fast on there. It will be too lean for me to consider driving. I hope to get a tune at LG's in the next week or so. Lucky for me they are only 5 mins from my house...

why don't you guys buy tuning software like HPTuners and learn how to tune? It's really not as hard as you think

That's something I have been thinking about to be honest with you. I would like nothing more than to "really" dial my car in myself with my laptop driving around.

I wish I would have done this when I had a stock car, then H/C/I, then nitrous, now TT. I see your point, but it's not the easiest thing to do when you jump in and want to tune a TT car with multiple boost settings, methanol, etc. LOL

I always enjoy your write-ups and how descriptive and picture oriented they are, even though I feel I'm very good with a wrench and don't need them (I say that as humbly as possible, seriously). However, I do realize that there are TONS of people out there that do. Keep it up man!

Guys:

So I pulled 471/441 today. Up from 451/427. Not too shabby. I'm impressed and the car feels good ! A constant gain from 3500rpm all the way to red line.

Very nice indeed, does this additional power have you thinking about 500?

No... Engine mods are done for me. Only thing stock on the motor is the block and rotating assembly. I only have a small drivers cam in there and I love the drivability of it. I don't need to be the fastest guy on the block. I have enough friends that I live vicariously thru them... 471/441 is plenty for me.

Very nice Mark.

20 & 14 from a ~ $1000 mod is pretty good in the corvette market.

Curious where the injectors were though? Were you able to get the duty cycle?

Thanks Tim !

80% at WOT. I'm not at WOT very often so I should be fine. If I add any more power I will get higher injectors.

Very good stock cube combination with a mid range cam. With an aluminum flywheel and big cam you'd be right aroung 500whp. But that would just be for bench racing bragging rights as it wouldn't drive nearly as well and might not actually be any faster.

It would take a lot more cam to hit 500. Something in the high 230s and low 240s. He does have an aluminum flywheel actually.

Agree especially knowing he has aluminum flywheel already; but 18lb sounds more like a steel one than aluminum. I guess an EWP would show a little more if that's not on there. Just complimenting such good results for a nice drivable build on stock cubes.

Guys:

So tonight I shaved my engine covers and got a perfect fit.

To shave the engine covers you will need the following.
I got a 2" drum sanding wheel with 80 Grit sand paper and used my drill.

You can see the BEFORE covers on top, and the AFTER covers on the botttom.

The 2" drum sanding wheel fits very well for the angles I was trying to achieve.
What I did was install the cover, make marks where it needed to be sanded, and started sanding.
I would then re-install the cover and make more marks where it needed to be sanded, and started sanding again.
I continued doing this over and over and over till I got the shape I was looking for.
I went slow with it so as not to over sand any given area.
I wanted it to look like it was designed to fit the intake from the factory.
I made sure that the covers snapped into place and there was adequate clearance around the intake.
After I achieved the fit I wanted, I went back and used 400 grit sandpaper smoothed the cut edges.

This is how the Passenger side fits after sanding.

This is how the Driver side fits after sanding.

Ready to hit the streets !
