They look like a Tri-Y design and only a few companies make/made them. The QTP's were stainless (I have those) and the Bassani's had joints within the primaries. The tubes look almost like QTP but they shouldn't be rusty. The QTP's also used the Random Tech mid pipe and cats. They might be Belanger as those are coated mild steel

If they are QTP, you know not what you have.

That's what I thought, they look just like QTP's but those are stainless and shouldn't be rusty. Definitely not Bassani because those have primaries that are more squiggly and merge higher up. Their not belangers either cuz those merge higher up also. I don't know who else makes tri-y headers for c5's. Anyway that's a good deal, if I didn't pick up my LG Pros at such a steal I'd be all over these. GLWS

I think that was the first C5 header made. We made it in mild steel to check fitment.

If they are QTP's, I will vouch for the performance. Based on my car, they are a top performer in the mid-range with no loss in peak power.

I am not 100% they are QTP, but they look identical, these were installed at a NJ shop, Corvette Paramedics back in 2004

I would e-mail QTP directly and ask them. They may have been directly involved in the first few sets that went out to monitor problems and performance. I know I reported back to them once mine were installed. I also have photos of mine off the car if that will help.

Why were they removed? Hope not for another set of headers.

Here you go. I think we have a winner.

PS: These headers are rare and their performance mid-range is phenomenal.

Thanks bud, looks like we have some QTP prototype headers here........nothing groundbreaking, but it's fun to run across some unique parts in the C5 pipeline

This will help greatly, CF rocks

I actually think the opposite. I removed my QTP's last year to try another well known header and lost 35 lb-ft of rwtq at 3,500 RPM. Peak power remained the same. I could feel the difference as soon as I installed the other headers as the car did not respond like it did with the QTPs. The dyno backed up what I felt. The QTP's were back on my car within days.

Unfortunately the ones you have are steel and not stainless, but I will vouch for their performance. Its a shame they are no longer made for the C5 as they were a great header IMO.

Ok quick time, exactly why aren't these still made? Low demand? Too expensive to build?

I believe Marc when he says the midrange is awesome compared to a 4-1. This has been known for years.

Seems perfect for an auto trans car.

I think if you contact QTP you will find they were expensive to produce plus the Random Tech setup was expensive as well. I have tried two headers on my car and the QTP's blew away the other set. I also have removed the AIR fittings and the guy who did the work remarked that the stainless tubing in the QTP's was much thicker and easier to weld. They were also made in the USA and with a lot of import headers flooding the market it was just a business move to stop producing. As far as the product goes I wouldn't hesitate to buy a set a set if they were still available. Note also that the stock GM manifolds are Tri-Y as well, interesting if nothing else.

Perhaps a WTB on this forum, Z06vette.com and some of the other Corvette sites might produce a used set from someone who has put in a bigger block.
