Replaced Battery?
Lost the settings although I had a trickle charger on Battery. How do I get the radio/heater settings back up?

It's not setting the station or setting the heat. Radio won't come on and can't control the heat. Says to reset, not sure how to do that.

Shows no codes, but haven't went into a check. Radio is locked out and so is the temp settings. Says on radio display when I try to turn it on to reset. Also says LOC. I'm going in this morning to have coolant flushed and replaced. I'm thinking they have to do it with setting it up with their computer. Need to put a power supply on the keep these settings when you change a battery, but I had already lost them before pulling the battery.

I have had the battery in and out of my 04 numerous times and have never lost a thing and I don't use any backup power when I pull the battery connections.
But then I have never felt the need to setup the security "THEFTLOCK" feature for the radio. More trouble than it is worth. Hope you saved the pass code for the Theft Lock feature for the radio...........

Maybe this will help:
How to unlock your C5 radio after "LOC."
Procedure:
01. Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)
02. Hold down the Radio Presets 2 and 3 buttons for six seconds
03. The radio display changes from LOC to a three-digit number. Write this number down. Don’t take forever, fifteen seconds max before the next step.
04. Press the AM/FM button
05. The radio display changes to another three-digit number. Write this number to the right of the first one.
06. You now have a six-digit number, the first three digits are from STEP 03 and the last three digits are form STEP 05
07. Call 1 800 537 5140
08. Press 1 then # (pound). You’ll hear “Invalid Code, try again”
09. Press 620529 then # (pound). You will be asked to enter your four or six digit code followed by * (star) [IF THE "620529" doesn't work, try 206053, 202107, 106010 or 202108.]
10. Enter the number from STEP 6 then * (star)
11. Listen to the four-digit number and write it down. It will be repeated twice
12. Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)
13. Use the MN and HR buttons to enter the code from STEP 11
14. Press the AM/FM button. The radio display changes to SEC
Your radio is now “un-locked” and usable. The Theft-Deterrent feature is STILL active! If you want to disable it, use the instruction on page 3-27 in your Y2K Owner’s manual. Use the code from STEP 11 instead of your personal code.
Hopefully it isn't out of date, but there is a good chance. Sorry if it is invalid.

I take my battery out for 6 months every year and the only thing I have to reset in the spring is the clock.
I stay away from the THEFTLOCK feature. Don't need the stress.

I've never set the theft lock, but I guess it's on. Dealer stuck it to me for resetting. Said they had to call GM for the code and cost me $49.50 to reset it. I just saw the later post on resetting when I got back. I was sure someone on here had the solution.
Now I need to disable it.

Went back to the dealer and had them disable the radio control. Hopefully I won't have this issue again. If I do, I now have the code.
