Corvette Challenge VaraRam Test
Here are my results from today. Car was driven about 150 miles after install with about 75 miles on highways at 50 to 75 MPH before this test session. Traction was marginal and I experienced much more wheel spin that with the stock set up, a little extra low end torque from the improved intake was obvious.
The numbers speak for themselves. The car picked up 4 tenths and 5.5 MPH

Re: Corvette Challenge VaraRam Test (Flintstone)
Al thanks again for helping out with this. I see significant improvement over the stock filter.
The next test will be on a car is already using an aftermarket intake and perhaps with a few mods.
Also folks, the test was done with the generic K&N filter. Vararam is now being produced with race filter that should let even more air into the system. We hope to have this in one of our Corvette Challenge cars next test which I hope will be coming a week or two.
We have commited to try this on the cars of regular Corvette Challenge racers for Vararam.

Re: Corvette Challenge VaraRam Test (Al-B)
As a point of info when I said STOCK I meant as it came from the factory. The car just turned 20K miles. The VaraRam has been the only mod applied to the car. :D

Re: Corvette Challenge VaraRam Test (Al-B)
Hey Al-B,
I was there yesterday and I seen your car. Very nice by the way
That VeraRam set up looks very tempting. Looks stock when you look under the hood. There is no doubt that you got a nice gain from that set-up. From my experience, Atco is a faster track than E-town in regards to MPH. ET is consistent between both tracks. It would be very interesting to see the difference between the stock filter and the VaraRam on the same day at the same track. I am very interested in this product and would like to see more results. It looks like VaraRam has a 30 guarantee or they would buy it back. That's called putting your $ where your mouth is. No other mod makes this guarantee.

Those times are pretty nice! I am debating between a new air system and those are the best numbers I have seen so far.

Re: Corvette Challenge VaraRam Test (RED99HT)
Thanks Red99HT.
My car has always run about the same at both tracks. The left lane at E-Town seems to MPH better for me.
The best speed I have ever run at Atco was 103.13 and best et was 13.51 Temp was 80F and barometer was 30.27. Barometer was pretty close to yeasterday 30.23 but temp was higher.
Based on what I experienced, I believe that the VaraRam is good for at least 3.0 to 3.5 tenths and 3 to 4 MPH regardless of the track.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know if you had ever run at ATCO before.
It looks like you can't lose with this product. If it doesn't do anything for you, just return it. You can't do that with anything else.

Great news.:) The folks over at Vararam are allowing us to offer up one or two for testing as well.

Re: Corvette Challenge VaraRam Test (RG in Dallas)
How does the VaraRam avoid water ingestion during heavy rains or lots of splashing from other cars?
I like the looks, and the performance plus, but am concerned about hydrolocking the engine.
Thanks

Re: Corvette Challenge VaraRam Test (redcorvette1995)
Thanks for doing the test. It's nice to have some independent verifiable numbers :D
Water ingestion is controlled by small troughs built into the scoops near the leading edge. In addition the customer can drill holes in the corner of the troughs during installation if they feel the need. Truly, the scoops are wide enough and angled to where they do not allow enough water to flow all the way into the airbox to cause a hydrolocking scenario unless the nose of the car is submurged.
