Re: Those Running Pilot Sports...Have ? (Buckmaster)
Buckmaster,
I am running the same set up as you are, except with FM5's :D and am running at 28psi on all 4. I just happened to check it the other day. Those settings are how they came from Xtreme as they mounted, and balanced the wheels/tires for me. :) Is this too low of a pressure to run?

Run 31-32 in front and 30 in the back COLD. THat will give you the best balance between handling and straight-line traction.

35PSI all around...
265 35 zr18's up front
295 35 zr18's in back
It's a firmer ride and well within spec.

Hey Buckmaster :seeya
Are you going to carry any kind of patch kit now or are you going to rely on a Triple A card and a cell phone?

Buckmaster,
I have the same tires sizes. The correct amount of psi to run is:
Front: 30 psi cold
Rear: 31 psi cold.
Trust me on this one.
Hope this helps.

I prefer my Tire Pressure much lower than most.
26-27psi cold.
I find my car/suspension/tires get WAYYY too bouncy at high speed, 130-150 if the Hot psi reaches 30+ psi. Dangerously bouncy. Lower pressure seems to help. I like to see around 28-29psi Hot.
Also, the lower pressure helps launching/traction from a dead stop. Less wheel hop.

28-32 all around ,on a long hi-way trip 34 all around if you live in AZ.32-34 for long trips at hi speeds the Pilot Sport can handle alot of abuse, but its always good to fill em up on the hi-way if your going triple digit #'s for extended periods so you dont Heaven forbid wind up like the explorer problem all due to under inflation 26 on all4 for ride comfort,SUV's are truck platforms and arent made to drive like an N-Benz so pre load them and get some good bite and no accidents.Yours Truly Dave s.PS.
28 psi around town is ok even with an occasional 150 mph boost.Dave.

Re: Those Running Pilot Sports...Have ? (Buckmaster)
Buckmaster,
Don't drag the car. Mostly autocross is what I really abuse the tires under.
When autocrossing, I usually put a couple more lbs. psi in the front tires and leave the rears at 31 cold.
Under severe autocrossing conditions, the tires may rise to almost 39 lbs. in each tire.
For the street, run 30 psi cold in the fronts and 31 psi cold in the rears.
You will be happy with the way the car rides and handles with that amount of pressure in the tires.
