Battery nut stripped - need help
The previous owner of my 2003 Z06 had the battery replaced shortly before I bought the car from him. I just noticed that the 9/16" nut on the negative side is completely rounded and the only way I'll be able to get it off is with a pair of vice grips or something. Is this nut replaceable or will I have to replace a cable?

The part is replaceable as stated above. The hard vinyl terminal cover will not want to release the damaged bolt (it's a bolt/stud, not a nut) easily. Once you remove the bolt with whatever means you decide to use, you'll find the bolt encased inside the cover. It'll just spin. Brute force might get it out.
An easier way is to apply some gentle heat to the cover to soften the vinyl and you should be able to remove it easily.
You can buy the same oem type bolt or extended studs to attach accessory wires are also available. Find them at your favorite auto supply or automotive stereo shop.

I always use a 6-point socket on them to ensure no rounding off. They are only supposed to be torqued to 11 ft-lbs per the manual.

9/16 nut? The answers given are correct. While you're at the parts store buy the special battery bolt wrench. It's a box end with rubber coated handle to help prevent rounding the bolt head and shorting out on anything the handle might touch.
