Default Oil Journals

does anyone know how many oil journal holes are in each cam journal where the bearings go. the reason i ask is because the tard that put the new cam bearings in my block covered one of them half way up. which means i gotta have the bearing pulled & put back in. also each bearing has 2 oil holes in it, but with the bearings in place, you cant see how many are coming thru the block.

I hope this helps:

Shoot me an e mail address. I have a picture of an actual cam bore that shows the actual cam bearings with the cam removed

it does some, but as you can see from the pic, i wish it would show how many oil holes there are in the bearings. i'm just gonna have to get a cam bearing puller & do them myself. it just pisses me off that i paid a shop to hone the block & put these bearing in & he put them in wrong.

One oil hole per cam bore and the hole is oblong in shape.

The cam bearing is designed with a split line that should be verical to the engine. There is no front or back to the bearing. That's why it has the two holes. If you just grab the bearing and make sure it is vertical one of the two holes will line up with the oil gallery. The key is to have the split line in the bearing vertical.

thanks for the info guys. so with the hole being oblonged, the oil journal hole in the bearing is going to cover part of it then. i'm gonna check the center ones tomorrow.

i just looked at that beaing again, & more then half of that hole is covered up. i'm gonna have to have that bearing pulled and reseated.
