How-To repair EBCM avoiding costly repairs through ABSfixer or Fleabay

This may be kind of a dumb question, but would I be able to drive the vehicle with the EBCM removed? The Corvette is my DD and I'm very inexperienced when it comes to working with electrical components. (I did successfully fix the dimming HVAC display though). If I mess the thing up, I want to still be able to drive the vette until I figure out a way to get a new EBCM. I'd assume it would revert back to conventional brakes. I drive a 2001 z06, code c1214.
Thanks
Thanks

Had the 1214 error last week... took the EBCM out this sunday, took it apart today (very busy here)
Can't say the soldering is realy bad, only 1 might have some bad connection.
Will solder all relay points tomorrow and hope it solves the problem.
If not I think replacing the relay is the next step?

A company that advertises on Flebay, and they are located in Mesa, Az.
I assume that is why this thread is titled like it is without mentioning their name. ABS-fixer advertises on here, the other one doesn't.

I recently fixed my EBCM this weekend. Thank You soooo much! Note to the original poster: need to edit> there is 6 screws to remove the ebcm. Not 4!. Also I found 2 other rectangular solder joints just below the relay crack all the way around!

As for the 4 screws, that's in reference to the EBCM cover which grants you access to the board. The 6 you're referring to is for the removal of that actual EBCM from the car.
I appreciate the look out however, that's how these things get better.

Can't thank you enough for this post. I started my car today and got the trifecta of error codes (Traction Control, ABS, stability control). Searched on here, found this post and followed your instructions. Everything seems to be working well now. Thanks again!

I bought my C5 with the ABS issue (I was made aware of it and price was good enough to make me happy!) but I did not mind since it is an 01 and it was the number ONE reason I wanted an 01 or 02 (ease of ABS repairs, etc.)
I was about to send it in to someone on ebay and then I saw this thread. I have not attempted the removal yet but I cannot thank the OP enough for making such a detailed post. I will let you guys know how it turns out

03 50th Coupe. Got the standard warning lights around when the battery had run down. Charged battery back up and lights gone. Problem started coming back; replaced battery. Several weeks later and now warning lights back with codes 1214 C H and 1233 C H. Talked to Brandon about the repair and will see if the repair will work (1214 for sure; may need to go refurbished because of the 1233 code). Anyone else have both of these codes and have just the repair clear both? Thanks in advance.

I have C1214 H C but also have
C1221 H
C1222 H
C1248 H
C1287 H
all these other codes should go away when i replace the relay right after 100 cycles of no problems? Or should i just clear the codes when reinstalling the EBCM after the repairs?
