Default x-pipe installed by TPS - VERY happy!

I had my tunnel plate sitting next to my desk along with my Magnaflow x-pipe. Last night I called board vendor TPS Motorsports and they were able to get me in this morning for a couple of hours. They installed the tunnel plate for me and also the x-pipe. This is the second time this week I've had the car there - the first was to replace my wobbling balancer with a Powerbond 25% underdrive unit. Both times they did very good work so I wanted to give credit where it's due

As for the x-pipe, the engine sounds MUCH smoother, and I (again) feel like it wants to rev easier, feels smoother when it's revving, and certainly feels like it pulls better. As soon as I get the B&B shorty headers on and the LS6 intake on I'll have it dyno tuned and post the results.

Mike at TPS took pics of the stock crossover pipe. Sorry, but I have to say that whoever spec'd out the stock h-pipe on our cars was LAME. They put in a 2.5" H crossover, but the left and right pipes only had a hole about 3/4" drilled in them - and not even directly in the side of the pipe. I can see why the x-pipe made such an improvement. I'm guessing Mike can post the pic up when he has a minute.

The x-pipe is certainly worth the cost to install, so if you're on the fence about one, get off the fence and get busy!

Good stuff, but IMO you are wasting your time/money getting shorty headers. You will be lucky to pick up 5hp.

Maybe so, but I live in the Demokratik Piples Repulik of Kel-if-or-nee-yuh, so shorties are the only way to stay legal.

Oh I gotcha, I still wouldn't buy them though. I just wouldn't wanna see you waste your money, thats all. You can find legal hp for much cheaper such as doing a vararam, porting your TB, intake manifold, tuning, or even certain superchargers lol.

To give you an idea of how small the actual hole in the h-pipe crossover is, I couldn't stick my pinky finger in it and I have skinny fingers.

I got a smokin' deal on the headers and they sure can't hurt, but we'll see. I could always re-sell them and put the $$ to something else - like GEARS

Cool setup bro, I have the magnaflow xpipe and exhaust and xpipe as well. Sounds bad ***. I have shorty headers my friend and I will be installing in a week or so, they are BBK. I'll let you know how they go. As for price on shorties they are pretty inexpensive. It's funny how people can justify spending thousands on ugly-cheap looking lights, ground effects etc and other exterior and interior aftermarket parts, but shorties are a waste of money. LOL.

What are your observations on the tunnel plate?

The car does feel more solid. I have a couple of specific freeway ramps to try it out on for "final testing". It did drop the console temps, but not by a HUGE amount - it's cetainly a difference you can tell though.
