Default Can I move the HUD from my '99 vert to my '01 z?

Got both vettes, my new love is the recently aquired z. Can I take the HUD from the '99 to the '01 and it be only plug and play? No extra purchases required?

THanks.

YES!! Good luck with the hole in the 99 dash pad! You should have everything you need Z, and the Z to the 99, the hole will not be an issue.

If the Z's cluster isn't HUD enabled, you will have to change gage clusters. Still all good except for actual mileage on each. Tech II can reset on each though.

Tech 2 can not change the odometer. Takes a special interface module to do that. Not many people or shops have the required interface.

wow! the mileage is a function of the gage cluster? Never would've know that... Bill, I guess you're saying the hole is in a different place on the two? I was just going to switch out the dash on both... everything is black, and both cars have about 65k on the odo... actually on has 65 and the other I think is 68k..

... reread your post bill, I guess I read it wrong... the hole is correct?

The faces of my gages are messed up on the z anyway... I think someone glued on bezels and then took them off. It looks bad. I've been contemplating what to do.

Holes are the same.. Just saying, sometimes older dash pads dont look as good as the newer ones. but, if its in good shape, your golden!

Most newer IPC Clusters are HUD Enabled.

So I guess I just have to do the switch to see if the '01 is enabled huh? If not, I guess it's new gage cluster time, right? The '99 doesn't have the same redline as the z.

thanks

I thought all 2000 and up clusters had the plug for HUD. You should be able to keep your Z06 cluster
