Can you mount '03 C5 TPMS sensors on C6 Z06 wheels (in the stock location)? There's more space between the rubber grommet and the body of the sensor on the C6 sensor. Did they do this for a reason, or just for the hell of it?

I'm concerned that the body of the C5 sensor might hit the wheel before it's tight. It would be a PITA to have to dismount the tires due to a slow leak at the sensor.

I have a set of OEM Z06 wheels off a 2008 mounted on my 98 with stock sensors mounted and haven't had any issues.

I have 2001-2004 C5 TPMS sensors on my OEM C6 polished wheels.

I can't see any reason why they wouldn't also work with C6 Z06 wheels.
