Seafoam or techtron

seafoam is rubbing alcohol, light petroleum and naptha.
techron is SOLVENT NAPHTHA, PETROLEUM, LIGHT AROMATIC C8-C10 -- 68%
Mixture of hydrocarbon solvents including methyl cyclohexane (naptha) [C7],
Toluene (aka methyl benzene [C7]), three isomeric xylenes (dimethyl benzene
[C8]), and ethyl benzene [C8]). These are simply common solvents for
non-aqueous systems.
>TOLUENE
< 0.1%
>XYLENES

>ETHYL BENZENE

>POLYETHER AMINE
32%
Polyether amine is a detergent designed for use in non-aqueous systems.
Techron is simply a soap-like material which can solubilize solid organic
crud (technical term)
I would go with techron, more chemicals meant to scrub stuff.

WoW...great post. I didn't know alot of that. I've been using Seafoam in my 2001 VW for over 10 years now for the intake AND fuel systems. Seems to work well but I may have to look into Techron a lil more throughly now. Have to admit...Seafoam in the intake manifold and the smoke show after is ALOT OF FUN.

I love seafoam its great I have used it on numerous vehicles in all three uses never had a problem and had many great results, But I have never heard anything bad about techron either i just picked up a 99 c5 with 100k on it just dumped a seafoam in it so we will see

It goes in everything with an engine that I own.
Corvette - gets a small can once a month
02 Tahoe - same as Vette
95 Cherokee - same
Bass boat - gets a can with EVERY tank of fuel (25 to 35 gallons of fuel every weekend!)
ZX14 - gets a half can once a month
both snowmobiles get Seafoam everytime they leave the garage!
