is $850 a good price for a set of used LS6 heads + all the hardware?
That's what i paid for them. is this a good deal? I heard that COH was selling complete LS6 heads brand new for $1000. was that for both heads or just one? where else to get a good deal on LS6 heads right now?

if you wanted to port them and give new springs then that would have been best chice i think. This price is for 2 heads!!

BTW, ported by Lingenfelter and including Valves and springs (complete) I think they go for 1200$ (each!!).

I paid $1068 + tax for 2 BARE heads, and I work at the dealership and get dealer net prices. So I would say you did great.

I sell the 02 cylinder head castings, which can be used with the 01 valves and springs for 579.50 each plus shipping....

The part number for the 2001 LS6 Head and the 2002 LS6 Head are different, but I haven't been able to find any differences in the head. Even the people at GM who design the stuff don't have an explanation for the part number difference. Many of my customers use the 2002 castings with their 2001 valves and such and have no problems and the 2002 heads are 80 dollars cheaper.

COH did have GP on 01'LS6 heads(2) for $1000. The diff in 01'and 02' heads are different lengths and weights of the valves. ARE gets the heads for about $1250, so I think you did great.
