Help with HUD problem
For the last month or so my HUD has intermittently been acting up. The display always displays something, so I don't believe it is anything with the HUD unit, but half the time all I get is " -- -- " (or the middle lines of where the two digits would be). I monitored the battery for the last week or so and noticed it fluctuating during driving. I was also getting random ABS/Active Handling and Engine codes.
I stopped by Autozone tonight and sure enough there was only about 65% charge, so I picked up a new battery. To my suprise, the voltage while I was driving was lower (13.8 V) that it was with the bad battery (14.1 V) and the HUD was not functioning. I've gone through my service manual, and didn't find a lot of help.
Has anyone had this problem before and found the issue? I just unplugged the battery and am going to leave it there for a half hour or so to reset everything.
Any help would be much appreciated!

I pulled the codes, and there are no IPC codes. Disconnecting the battery did not help, but I put it on my battery tender all night and now this morning the HUD was working again? The battery voltage while running was back to 14.3V.
Do I have something pulling current somewhere? Is it time to start checking grounds? I did notice that when I used the turn signal this morning, the voltage on the DIC went to 13.8 while it was on. Is that what I should expect?

I would check the battery connections to insure they are clean and tight then check the connections at the starter solenoid which is where all of the electrical comes together.
