brake question
I had new Hawk HPS pads put on the front with new Brembo rotors and changed the brake master cylinder at the same time. We bled all four corners. The brakes are just not biting. What could be the problem? I did 4 or 5 slow downs from 40mp and 60 mph yesterday and 3 or 4 this morning to bed the pads. Is there anything I should be looking for? I want the car to stop hard as it did in the past.

Not sure why you would change the master cylinder, but doing so invites introducing a lot of variables into the system...most likely you have air in the system. You should avoid doing more than one thing at a time...first do the pads, bed them, then after you are satisfied, do your other repair.

Did you properly bleed the master cylinder when you installed it?
If the master cylinder is known or suspected to have air in the bore, then it must be bled in the following manner, before bleeding any caliper:
1. Disconnect the forward (blind end) brake pipe connection at the master cylinder.
2. Allow the brake fluid to fill the master cylinder piston bore until it begins to flow from the forward pipe connector port.
3. Connect the forward brake pipe to the master cylinder and tighten.
4. Depress the brake pedal slowly one time and hold. Loosen the forward brake pipe connection at the master cylinder to purge air from the bore. Tighten the connection and then release the brake pedal slowly. Wait 15 seconds. Repeat the sequence, including the 15 second wait, until all air is removed from the bore.
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipe tube nut to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
5. When clear fluid flows from the forward connection, repeat steps 1 and 2 to bleed the master cylinder at the rear (cowl) connection.
Did you use the right sequence for your year car?
# If it is necessary to bleed all of the brake calipers, the following sequence should be used:
'97-'00
1. Right rear
2. Left rear
3. Right front
4. Left front
Check the brake pedal for sponginess.
'01-'04
1. Right rear
2. Left front
3. Left rear
4. Right front
Check the brake pedal for sponginess.
