Cartek clutch works great in my car. There are plenty of others out there who love them too.

I am surprised you didnt have it installed whil eyour car got the x package from cartek. The cartek clutch would be needed for your application.
Did you ever redyno your car on another dyno to compare to carteks dyno results??

Can you tell me which Star clutch unit compares with the CARTEK? Am on the fence with my clutch change and would appreciate the help. Do you have the Star unit? Thanks.

C54, I would leave it alone until it gives you problems...........
MTI recommends the '02 Z clutch with it's H & C package............
Which will lay down around 425rwhp..........
If ti's good enough for them, why pay extra now??.

There's no equality what-so-ever between the Cartek and the Star. Cartek has a 3200 lb pp made by Borq & Beck with a ceramic bronze disk. Star has a 2500lb 2002ls6 pp and various disks...carbon,kevlar,etc.....don't mean to sound harsh in this post

Star and Cartek are both good. I'm trying the newest version of the McLeod Dual Disc. My last version kinda sucked, so this is Red's last chance with me. I'm getting a break on my present project to use this. We'll see, I hope I'm not overly optimistic. We'll see how she holds up over the next few months.

Hate to reopen this discussion but...I'm starting to get some occasional "grinding" on speed shifts(usually 3-4). Will changing the fluid help or do you think I need to invest in the new clutch(Star Stage III is my choice - rated for over 600 rwhp)??? Please advise...

I just installed a McLeod single disk in my car. I also have the McLeod master cylinder and the system feels/works really well. No slip under load, very smooth engagement and powershifts well. My max power output is 439 and 533.
The reason for the latest change was not because the stock '01 unit I had in the car wasn't holding the power...it was because it's pressure plate spring broke in two places! The techs at MTI said that the same thing has happened numerous times to customers with stock clutches. I know the stock '02 clutch is better but it is still questionable in my opinion.
