Really bad noise coming from car :(
Ok guys, I made 5 passes this week at the strip. I have a spec 3 clutch, 4:10's no problems till after this. I was getting some wheel hop and then on the drive home anytime I went over like 45 mph and didnt hit the throttle it was SCREAMING SCREECHING noise coming from I guess the center tunnel. Also when I throw it in neutral or depress the clutch no change in noise. And when I slow down it doesnt stop till the car literally stops then doesnt start again till I get over 45mph again or so. Does anyone have any ideas

sounds really expensive to fix. I am going to call ECS on Monday, see what Chris has to say about it. I may have him through some coil overs in the car as well.

Any noted vibration when it starts the noise? I doubt the pilot bearing as they normally stop making noise once the clutch is engaged. Through-out bearing could be the source. If you have some vibration, one of the propshaft couplings might be on its way out as well.

well I am going to call Chris at ECS tomorrow and probably just give him the car to fix, I may have some coil overs slapped on as well so I can eliminate this wheel hop bullshi*

Umm maybe he wanted to have an idea what is wrong with his car before taking it to the shop, but that is just speculation.

yes thank you! Just trying to get an idea, if its something small I would fix it myself. Maybe someone has had the same problem. Anyway, thanks for the input I am leaning towards something with a bearing, cause whenever your under 45mph not a sound.

As your driving, with the noise present, sway the car from side to side and see if the noise gets more prevalent in one direction or another. If so it can most likely be a wheel bearing, but we'll be happy to check it out regardless.
