A well built engine with cheap parts will outlast and out power a poorly built engine with expensive parts.

Thanks, Chuck. This is the kind of opinion I have been waiting for. I think I will now go with the DragonSlayer crank and continue with the ordering of parts. I do have a quality builder in town that will be doing all the machining, balancing, and assembly.

Hey guys, here's the spec's on the Callies Cranks when it comes to strength and weight...

The Callies Racemaster is no longer offered, discontinued

The Dragonslayer and Magnum XL are both pretty equal on strength...

The hand shaping that goes into the Magnum XL is why it cost alot more...

Weights...

With a 4" stroke Dragonslayer is 46-47lbs, Magnum XL is 43lbs..

With a 4.125 stroke Dragonslayer is 47-48lbs, the Mangum XL is NOT recommended in any strokes past 4"...

IMO the Dragonslayer is more than enough for a street car...

Thanks, Mike. Let's go ahead and order the DragonSlayer with a 4.125 stroke and a 24-tooth reluctor wheel!

The Compstar would have been fine and even the Eagle. HKE has 1200 hp FI cars on $400 Eagle cranks. Its all about who builds it. Best of luck with it, post up the results when you get her done.

Carefull not all Callies cranks are American Forgings...Compstar is allegedly an offshore forging but machined in the US...but nothing wrong with that...we made 1000rwhp on an Eagle crank and F1R been running strong for 5 years
