I've been daily driving my chattering z-grip for almost a year now. I'll give it credit, it holds great at the dragstrip, but it sure gets old in a daily driver. I guess it's about time to start my selection process for a replacement...

Am I losing my mind? I thought I saw a post by ZIP that they had the ZR1 twin disc and a new design Fidanza filywheel for the C5 and when I tried to post in the thread I got an error and then the thread was gone. Anyone else see this? That might be a killer setup.

I know Katech has similar setup for the C6 but not the C5.

Yes Katech was mentioned in the add. I checked Katech today and it says C6 non-ZR1 so if it fits a C6 why not a C5? A lot of guys are running the C6 clutch setup.

I believe Jason said it was ok to use in a C5. A PM would answer that.

Something to do with the distance the slave would have to be shimmed to make it work is different in the C6 than the C5 and Katech did not want to do the R&D on the C5 to figure out what the shim height should be.

There'a post somewhere in the C6 section I think about it. If you look under my user name I posted in the thread a month or so ago.

Well that sucks, that was the setup I was hoping would hit the streets eventually. I guess my next clutch when the time comes will be the RPS. Hopefully that isn't too soon but based on the OP's photos I am not so sure anymore

Maybe Katech or somebody else will figure it out by the time you're ready to do your next clutch job.

I'm still waiting to hear back from Jarrod. I talked to him the other day and he said he would get back to me in a bit. I think that was thurs or fri :/. In his original email he told me the clutch would take 10-14 days to refurb. He recieved it (the clutch) on the 17th of Dec. Figured they took a lot of holidays off, so I'll be patiently waiting

Also, for reference - since the clutch was behind a 430 rwhp [strike]pig[/strike] GTO, Jarrod said it overheated (by a lot) and essentially warped everything. This was not the fault of the clutch, the first slave took a crap and apparently took the clutch out with it.
