I will be buying the Kumho Supras once the weather gets better around here.

A buddy I work with has them on his 1997 FireChicken and loves them.

What size do you need? I have a pair of 'new' 255/45-17s I could drop at your door.

I ran Sumitomo HTRs on my z28. 275/40-17s and 315/35-17s. I liked them. They did not produce a lot of road noise and they got decent tread wear. They could have been a little stickier, though. I'd buy them again.

Running HTR Z II's. 285's in the rear. Better than the stock runflats, but still not sticky enough. All in all, a good deal at the price.

I tried the htr z 11's on a 95 and loved them. 275 40 17 all around on 96 rims, plus you can't beat the price. Good luck.

Im in the same boat as you right now I need some tires. I just bought some zo6 wheels and really dont want to spend all my money on the goodyear supercar tires im thinking about using Kumhos instead. I found the fronts for $115 265/40/17 at the tire rack but can not find the back to match need help. I need 295/35/18 for the rear in Kumho Where can I get them?also what does the first 2 numbers represent in tire sizes ---/--/18 ?????? Thanks
Justin

The first number is the total width of the tire in millimeters. It is not the tread width, but the total overall width. The second number is ratio of the sidewall height to the tire width. In your case you would have a tire that is 295mm wide with a sidewall that is 35% of 295mm, or 103.25mm. If you take the sidewall height, multiply times 2, convert to inches, and add the rim diameter you get overall tire height (and thus diameter) which you can then use to compare different tire sizes to make sure that you keep the same tire size. For example a 275/40-17 is the same height as a 315/35-17. Your 295/35-18 is 26.1 inches tall. The standard rear, 275/40-18, is 26.6 inches tall, so your speedo and odometer will be off just a little bit, but not that much.

Was that long winded enough?

I put the HTZR whatevers on my stock wheels so I would have a spare set of tires, Sumitomo is owned by Dunlop. These tires have a similar tread pattern to the Michelin Pilot Sports, except they are bricks, but still are better than than the run craps. I have been waiting for Kuhmo to release a 335/30 for my rears in an 18" but so far only the 17's are in production.

Iam told that the KHUMO's don't come in 18" size. I just bought Bridgestone SO3's but haven't run them yet.

You may want to read their spec sheet for the Supras on their website. Whoever told you that they don't make 18s is silly.

I tried the sumimoto htrz II but they were kind of small for my z06 rims, they were 255 font and 285 rear. So I switched to pirellis pzero 265 and 295.. work fine.
But if you are putting them on the stock rims, then they will be just fine. :flag
