I have UL 1.7's with all the mods listed in my sig...

I haven't had any issues with about 6,000 miles of very spirited driving. Maybe it's just a freak incident...at least I hope so. Send the picture to Yella Terra and see what they say about the quality of the product. Maybe you'll get lucky and they send you a replacement.

Really interesting pics. I see soo many unique failures with aftermarket rockers, but I've yet to see a stock rocker arm break like that.

There have been some recent issues. One of the GTO guys had one break and contacted YT. They requested that the entire set be sent back to them for material analysis (they paid shipping) and they are providing the owner a full new set. The response from YT indicated they may have gotten some bad material and I think they are trying to track down material lots. I would contact them immediately. There are a lot of sets running around problem free but recently there have been several failures, and all of the failures have been quick (low mileage). I think YT is trying to get their arms around this so it will actually be helpful to them if you contact them.

From what I understand, they'll replace the one pair of rockers - not the whole set.

Mike from NEP made contact with them and FWD'd me the email. I'm going to call her today to make sure I have it clear as to what to do.

I'd honestly be surprised if they don't want the whole set back.

Either way, I hope it's fast because the weather is getting cold and the snow's going to start to fly before I know it...

aren't there supposed to be bearings in there like the stockers? I didn't see anything sitting inside the head when I took it apart. eek...

Based on the pics, the bearing appears to be intact.

I talked to someone from the Mako group on the phone. They want the broken pair back in the mail and will send out a replacement as soon as they receive it.

I'm very surprised they don't want the whole set and frankly, I'm a little nervous. If this were an exhaust rocker, I think the results would be a little more devistating, no?

*fingers crossed*

I'd be replacing all of them. Based on worst case, one can only assume they are of the same lot of material/processing. I would not chance a repeat performance...but that's just me.

Replace them all. The odds are not in your favor just replacing one pair.

Before you do that, contact the guy on LS1gto and find out who he spoke with. They should be replacing the entire set, especially if they suspect bad material stock. If you can't find the post, let me know and I will hunt it down. He cross-posted on LS1tech as well.

Don't mess with the US distributor on this if they aren't helping, YT needs to understand they may have big issues if more of these break and they need to get their arms around it. Its hard to build a reputation for good quality parts but it doesn't take long for it to go away. I think they will step up, but they need to know of your (and others) problem. Here is some contact info from their web site:

The MS number isn't really Yella Terra, it's the Mako group - their importer/distributor I guess.

That's the exact number I called and there the person told me to send back one pair.

Default I broke one

I also broke a rocker, believe it was number 5. It snapped in the same spot yours is. Several of the other ones had what appeared to be stress fractures as well...
