Thanks for posting this!! I broke my release button throwing some beer in the vette, snapped it right off. I was told I would have to replace the whole assy, which I was not looking forward to!! So I was really happy to of stumble upon this thread at the perfect time.This was very simple, I didn't even have to remove the passenger seat. Again thanks for posting!

Hunterhicks, thanks for the reply on Youtube. The link brought me here and now I see what I need to do. I don't know why but when I searched CF for this, this thread didn't come up.

I have a question for any of you guys that might be metallurgists or engineers on here. Is there a way to harden the rod after getting it adjusted correctly so that it won't bend too easily in the future?
